No. In order to qualify as a device any product, submitted during homologation of the complete vehicle model prior to mass production, would be evaluated on an individual basis by the competent authority. This evaluation process is standardised.
Previous submissions to competent authorities and their acceptance of Safe-T-Punch™ as a device was achieved by submitting the information as per the requirements for homologation of a vehicle safety critical part. These requirements for individual approval as fit for purpose are detailed in the documentation of the relevant competent authority. There requirements are universal.

Yes. The device is designed to be operated by hitting it repeatedly with a bare hand. Readily Breakable Safety Glass breaks into harmless cubes and is recognised and standardised as being safe to handle without causing injury.
It is designed to break toughened safety glass conforming to UN ECE R43 or similar. Safe-T-Punch™ excels in performance when fitted to Readily Breakable Safety Glass.
Safe-T-Punch is tested on 8mm toughened glass.
A person can generate about 3 Joules of energy with a single hand strike. This force is sufficient in order to break toughened glass when applied to an installed Safe-T-Punch™ device. A deliberate and intended strike is required. It can be struck repeatedly until the glass breaks.
You are more than welcome. We only insist that the installation or test rig used be representative of an installed compliant Emergency Window. Loose glass/fitment negatively influences the performance of the test.

All toughened glass is permanently marked as to its type. Search for the logo/emblem and standardised marking (R43) around the perimeter of the glass.
Yes.
Check for suitable adhesion of the device to the specific type of film fitted to the glass. Anti- graffiti film is not suitable as it shrugs off adhesive and paint. A different installation method may be used under these circumstances which would involve cutting a hole in the film and fitting the device directly onto the glass.

Only if installed during manufacture of the window assembly. See the amazing ability to “stack” these devices. With an overall height the STP50FA and its double glazing companion, the STP40F, is only 9mm each. This makes for easy fitment of the device in a double-glazed assembly with a minimum airgap of 10mm. Each toughened glass pane of a double glazed emergency window is fitted with a device, exactly as per the UN ECE R107 regulation.

Visually inspect all devices for damage and completeness. For the STP30N and STP40N simply rotate the button, if it moves freely the device is good for service. For the STP50FA device, remove the safety tag and gently press the strike surface. There should be a little movement and then the tip will contact the glass. Refit the safety tag.
No. The extreme low profile and bevelled EVP ring of the STP50FA makes it near impossible to remove without the use of tools.
